About Roz and Skippy the Dog

Roz and skippy the dog became close companions (human and dog) quite accidentally when roz moved back to Co Wickow in the year 2000. Skippy was the family pet and took a shine to roz (well who could blame him lol!) as she loves walking in the beautiful countryside of county Wicklow and is also rather fond of food - two things he loves!!

Plus roz had recently learnt to swim and thus spent a lot of evenings down at the beach - which has a salt-free stream running by it so its perfect for dogs who like to surf the seas.

Basically this was doggy heaven to Skippy so when Roz bought her very own country cottage Skippy asked if he could go with her.

Though the family were a little sad to see him leave they knew that he would be much happier and lead a more exciting life with her.

So roz and skippers moved in together...And www.thewicklowway.ie began

Life with skippy - by Roz

Having skippy as a companion adds much laughter and delight to my life as he really is the cutest dog - like a living teddy, and has a fun and mischievious character all of his own! (we know about the Austrian ham robbery and the broken table for pasta sauce incidents skippy!).

He loves to sing along to the harmonica - which is popular at bathtime when I'm playing a bob dylan tune, plus he's very fond of (and very good at) 'hide and seek the ball'.

Being a terrier of sorts (?!) he's also very useful for mice and rat catching although he has to fulfill these duties yet in our new house (hint hint skip).

When he recently broke his leg I felt very very sorry for him but so happy that he grew a new bone despite the vet predictions and look forward to enjoying as many more happy years together as we can Living Life The Wicklow Way!

It must be said that any man who comes into my life will probably have to be aware that he just might have to come third in the order of things..(naturally I'm first lol) lots of Love, Roz (the Human) xxx

Life with Roz - by Skippy

Roz is great fun to hang out with as she has many of the same interests as me - namely walks, food and cuddles!

I must admit that I do get a teeny bit miffed when she spends so much time on her computer instead of playing with ME but she says it's a necessary evil so that we can enjoy Living life The Wicklow way and doing our walks and swims etc.

I'm lucky that I have a fur coat cos I can swim anytime no matter how cold it is ( well within doggy reason) however roz is a bit cautious about entering the water in sub zero temperatures...humans!

This year roz has told me that she is gonna spend EVEN MORE TIME with me so I am very excited and really looking forward to 2010. She says shes gonna make me FAMOUS!
